Dr Alison Grove
Trustee and Member of the Clinical Quality & Education Committee

Alison qualified in medicine in 1978 and initially trained for General Practice and became a partner at a practice in Wimborne, Dorset. She has always had an interest in end of life care since working as an elective in India, which then became a special interest during her years as a GP.

Moving around the country because of her husband's job catalysed a change from General Practice to specialise in palliative medicine, and ultimately she was based at St Giles Hospice in Lichfield working with the local district general hospitals in the area. Alison’s final position before taking retirement was as lead physician, and acting Medical Director at St Giles and visiting physician to Queens’ Hospital Burton on Trent. Alison became a member of the St. Margaret’s Trustee Board in September 2015.
