Ann Anderson
Director of Clinical and Collaborative Commissioning, Somerset CCG

Ann worked as an Occupational Therapist within the NHS for many years, practising in both acute and community settings, before moving to a senior NHS management role 15 years ago. Before being appointed to the post of Director of Clinical Commissioning Development in 2012, she was Deputy Director of Strategic Development for Somerset Primary Care Trust.

Ann has significant experience in leading a range of service redesign programmes within both children and adult services.  She feels strongly that a whole systems approach, working in partnership with primary care, NHS provider organisations, the local authority and voluntary organisations, provides the best opportunity to develop more joined up patient care, improved patient experience and outcomes, and a more sustainable health and social care system going forward.

Ann has a particular interest in end of life care and was a trustee for St. Margaret’s Hospice for a number of years. She is committed to ensuring the opportunities that clinical leadership and clinical commissioning offer are maximised, bringing the experience and needs of service users and their carers central to the development of new models of care that will best meet the needs of people in Somerset over future years.
