A brave, honest and caring lady

A brave, honest and caring lady

It is with great sadness that we inform you that Camilla Wilson died peacefully at home on Wednesday 16 March.

Since the launch of the ‘Fit for Future’ review, Camilla has provided an honest and personal insight into her end of life journey through a series of powerful blog entries. She has been a passionate supporter of St. Margaret’s Hospice and was determined to do all that she could to raise awareness of the importance of end of life care.

Through her detailed blog entries Camilla was able to significantly raise awareness of the vital services that Hospices provide, explaining why they are so important. She also gave strength and courage to other individuals who were going through similar experiences.

We regularly received written and verbal feedback thanking Camilla for sharing these personal experiences, some of which have been included below.

“Camilla, you're amazingly brave and have helped me talk to my family about all my fears and frustrations. Your courage is helping me realise I am not alone”.

“I applaud Camilla’s bravery, honesty and wonder at how she is able to express her true feelings so well.”

Camilla’s input into the ‘Fit for Future’ review has been invaluable and we are extremely grateful for her contribution in helping us shape the future of palliative care services in Somerset.  Everyone at St. Margaret’s Hospice would like to thank Camilla for her powerful and moving words, and hope they serve as a worthy tribute to a brave, honest and caring lady.

Our thoughts are with her family.
